complete narrative shorts

These projects tell short stories. I directed some of them, on some of them I did CGI and VFX work. The compositing projects all followed a traditional process of scripted pre production, and shooting live action plates before beginning on the VFX. On the AI projects, I was responsible for directing and editing sequences with continuity, which is one of the typical hallmarks of narrative filmmaking. Before AI, I worked as a CGI VFX generalist and editor, in various combinations of roles.

A number of narrative music video projects I worked on went viral and have over 100 million views on YouTube. I have worked on award winning indie productions as well as mainstream Hollywood movies and major broadcast/streaming network TV shows. I creatively collaborated on spots, pitches, and shorts for Directors including Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts), and Jon Watts (Spiderman).

I made this project out of frustration with the character designs in Pixar's “Cars” • In my opinion, the front of a car already forms a face without putting eyes on the window • I performed all production tasks • I entirely 3D modeled this truck from scratch and used multiple 3D renders as references to create the consistent AI generations of the truck.

This is the third version of this project, using the same basic imagery, but regenerating it with the latest technology to improve the visual quality • The idea is that AI is coming to save us instead of kill us • The original images were generated in 2022 with locally run Stable Diffusion • I have continued to use the original primitive generations as the style reference for the subsequent versions • Creating twin characters whenever the frame has a horizontal aspect ratio was a very common error with the early AI, but I decided to run with it and make it be a motif in the piece • I performed all production tasks
