ABOUT

Hello! My name is Ian Wilmoth, AI Director/Editor/Compositor, Before the AI era, I have 25 years experience as a 3d/VFX Generalist. I am happy to work in either medium or especially projects which combine both. The majority of my work has been short form, high production value projects, such as commercials, experiential, and music videos. I also contribute to Episodic TV shows, specials, feature films, and more- Im glad to work on any gig willing to pay for high quality 3d CGI or AI VFX. I have the multiple skills necessary to finalize shots in the age of AI.

I am equally comfortable as a lead or subordinate. I have an excellent and trained eye for shapes, perspective, lights, materials, color, cinematography, editing, and timing. I have great attention to details and passion for my projects. I’m a fast learner when it comes to 3D, VFX , and AI workflows. I can help to define the visual art direction in preproduction or jump into production work from existing style frames. What can I do for you?

SKILLS + Software

I really shine when working in adjacent roles, minimizing handoffs between artists (and thus revisions) as production goes forward. I am also happy working in discrete roles including 3D Modeler, Look Dev, Lighter, Character Animation, Dynamics, CFX, VFX, Post, Rigger, Layout, Compositor, etc, I do previs and postvis. I can also color grade. I am an on-set VFX supervisor.

I use Cinema 4D, Maya, Zbrush, Nuke, After Effects, PFtrack, Redshift, Vray, & more. I’m learning Unreal for virtual production and realtime photoreal renders.

The AI space is still evolving so rapidly and I try every new tool that comes out and looks promising. As of this writing, I'm mainly using Nano Banana, Flux, Veo, and Kling. I have also extensively used Luma, Sora, Pixverse, Seedance, Midjourney, and more.
